Pumpkin charcoal drawing

    • In this artwork, my goal is creating the drawing of the pumpkin, representing the Halloween atmosphere in the class room.
    • I accomplished these pictures by charcoals and charcoal pencils , and afterwards use white charcoal  to add lighting to that.
    • My painting is about the brightness of color which create the fascinating effect on the contrast of dark and brightness.
    • The most difficult challenge is making the drawing dimensional. Or rather make them have right shadows and lights.
    • I meet the challenge by modifying the outline lot of times to make them dimensional.
    • My special shadow of pumpkin looks really good, and the stem looks very cool!
    • In next painting, I will try to make more proportional and make more contrast between light and dark.
    • Connie Hayes is the artist I learned from, especially about the variety of ways to contrast color and blending them to create different effect.
    • Lauren's painting is appealing to me because it seems that there is some smoke of fog surround the pumpkin.
    • I would redo the background pumpkin to make its shadow look better.
    • I feel best about the stem of the pumpkin
